Diagnosis fuente: PERSOONIA - AN INTERNATIONAL MYCOLOGICAL JOURNAL - VOLUME 16 - PART 1 - 1995 Rijksherbarium/Hortus Botanicus, Leiden, The Nederlands Pileus 7-16 mm broad, 5-9 mm high, conico-convex to hemispherical, then plano-convex with broad umbo, hygrophanous, when moist dark greyish brown or slightly olivaceous brown (K. & W. 5D6, 6D8, 8E8-8F8), at centre reddish brown or orangey brown, to the margin slightly paler, translucently reddish brown or orangey brown, to the margin slightly paler, translucently striate almost up to the centre, on drying becoming pale ochraceous with yellow-brown centre, smooth. Veil rudimentary, only some white fibrils along margin of pileus when very young. Lamellae, L = 16-20, | = 1-3, fairly crowded, broadly adnate, up to 4 mm broad, slightly ventricose, pale70 grey-brown at first, then dark brown or grey-brown (6E5, 7F5), at first with white fimbriate edge. Stipe 23-45 x 1.5-2.5 mm, cylindrical, not rooting, fistulose, entirely ochre-yellow, at apex pruinose, without veil remains. Context concolorous with surface, in stipe pale ochre, fragile. Smell weak, not distinctive. Spore print not recorded. Spores 6.5-9.0 x 4.5-5.5 x 4.0-5.0 tum, on the average 7.4-8.1 x4,9-5.4 x 4.4-4.9 jum, slightly to distinctly flattened, in frontal view ovoid, often with truncate base, Q = 1.4-1.6, Qav. = 1.45-1.55, in side-view ellipsoid-oblong, Q = 1.5-1.85, Qav. = 1.65-1.7, dark red-brown in ammonia (Mu. 7.5 R 3/4), with apical pore, 1.0-1.5 um wide. Basidia 17-21 x 7.5-11 tm, 4-spored. Lamella edge sterile, made up of scattered to numerous pleurocystidioid cheilocystidia, 24-40 x 8.5-12 tm, lageniform, tapering into rather short, cylindrical, obtuse to subacute neck, 3.5-5.0 tum broad, intermixed with numerous spheropedunculate and clavate cells, 20-32 x10-17 um. Pleurocystidia numerous, 26-46 x 7.0-13 um, lageniform like the cheilocystidia, with cylindrical neck 3.0-5.0 um broad. Pileipellis an epithelioid hymeniderm, made up of clavate, globose and spheropedunculate cells, 20-42 um broad, Stipilipellis a cutis, made up of parallel, hyaline hyphae, 2,0-5.0 um broad, with clusters of caulocystidia. Caulocystidia predominantly globose to clavate, 11-28 x 7.5-16 jum, intermixed with scattered pleurocystidioid caulocystidia, 25-38 x 7.5-10 um, with neck 3.5-4.5 um broad. Clamp-connections present.
